Non Fiction Response

I read an article called "Arkansas Adopts Strictest Abortion Law in the U.S." by Erik Eckholm
The article talked about how Arkansas passed a law that bans abortions after 12 weeks into the pregnancy. 12 weeks is when a fetus's heartbeat can first be detected. This law was passed by the republican controlled legislative and passed it over a veto by governor Mike Beebe. This is half of the law set by the supreme court which was 24 weeks.
Republicans related abortion to the Holocaust and the Rwandan genocide, because of the 50 million abortions each year. Also anti-abortionists argued that after 20 weeks that a fetus can feel pain. The 12 week ban is within the first trimester of pregnancy and one woman said " It has no chance of surviving in federal court"
Me personally, I am pro choice. I believe if someone doesn't want to have a child, then that is their choice and people should not make their decisions for them. I hope this law gets taken down in court. The fact that anti-abortionists related abortion to the holocaust, to me is absurd.
In the holocaust 17 people were brutally murdered by racist Nazis. With abortion fetuses are not born. In my eyes fetuses are not people yet, they have not been born, they are not in the census.
I hope anti-abortion laws get taken away completely and don't think this is fair.
